Fixing an IPTV Program Guide That Won't Load

The electronic program guide, or EPG, tells you what's currently on and what's up next for every channel. If it's blank, your channels will usually still play just fine — the two problems aren't the same thing. Below is a step-by-step way to get the guide itself back in working order.

Wait a bit longer than you'd expect

Guide listings are typically pulled in separately from the channel list itself, and that sync can lag behind by several minutes, particularly right after you first load your playlist or if your connection is on the slower side.

Force-close and relaunch the app

Should the guide still be empty after a fair wait, shutting the app down completely and opening it again is often enough to kick off a new data sync.

Look at the guide-source settings inside the app

Many player apps give you a choice of guide sources or let you set how often listings refresh, tucked away in a settings menu. If that option got switched off or set incorrectly, you'll get playable channels with no guide data at all.

Rule out a one-off channel problem

Sometimes it's just a single channel missing its listings rather than the entire guide failing — that's a narrower issue and worth distinguishing from a total EPG outage.

Nothing worked?

If the guide is still empty after all of this, get in touch through our contact page. Our installation guides also cover how EPG data behaves on each device we support, which may point to something device-specific.
